Blogging is the new rage with Bed and Breakfasts, and it is no wonder since you can barely do a Google Search on anything without having someone’s blog show up in the search results. So I have decided to add an Albuquerque Bed and Breakfast Blog to the cyberworld in order to tell everyone about how awesome Albuquerque, New Mexico is as a travel destination and what a great place it is to live. I will also be blogging about our bed and breakfast and just what goes on around here so those of you who have come to us as guests and left as friends can keep up with what’s going on around here, and those who might consider staying at Adobe Nido will know a bit more about us.
Albuquerque has been considered a gateway to the previously more popular Santa Fe and Taos for a long time, because we have the airport (ABQ), the Albuquerque International Sunport, (although you will be hard pressed to find any international flights). But Albuquerque is the perfect New Mexico destination, because there so many usual and unusual day trips are easy to travel to from our central location.
Santa Fe is a short trip north on the new RailRunner, so you don’t even need to drive up to Santa Fe to enjoy the shopping and museums. But for those of you who like a drive, you can get there just as quickly and enjoy a different view by driving on the Turquoise Trail which runs on the east side of Albuquerque’s Rockies – the Sandia Mountains. This trail will take you through the old mining towns of Madrid and Cerrillos. Madrid is now a small town of artisans, and Cerrillos is where “Young Guns” was filmed and a place where they still mine beautiful turquoise.
This is just the beginning of the wonderful day trips from Albuquerque that await you. Tune in again to read about the Jemez Mountains, hot springs, trout fishing, beautiful hikes, wineries and Indian Pueblo….all just a little over an hour from Albuquerque. I know New Mexico Secrets, and I’m telling all.
I know the best things to do in Albuquerque!
