On the Super Chief -- a respectful correction -- the Super Chief does NOT still run. Amtrak took over the name for their service, but when their standards didn't rise to Santa Fe's requirements, the railroad forced them to stop using the name (back in the 1970s). The Chicago to Los Angeles service is now called the Southwest Chief. It is very nice, but certainly NOT up to the standards the A,T&SF maintained!

I was looking for a recipe for Calabasitas -- that's how I found your site! So... thanks! Uncle Bob
