This post is about the Comic Expo 2011. Foe the most up to date info on Albuquerque Comic Expo 2012 go here.
Albuquerque is hosting it’s own Comic Book Event this summer! Because comic books continue to grow in popularity and are spilling over into other industries, such as video games, movies and other entertainment venues that spawned from comics, (and visa-versa), the comic book industry and it’s spin offs are a multi-billion dollar affair. It attracts people young and old alike from all walks of life. We’ve come a long way from Archie, Betty, Veronica, Mr. Natural and those Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, folks. If you are looking for something to do in June, plan now for this great Albuquerque event…
This promises be a cool, and awesome event! And it isn’t just about the comic books – it’s a comic books – pop culture – games and entertainment convention. The Albuquerque Comic Expo will be featuring signings, screenings, plenty of question and answer time, and many opportunities to mingle with some of the best in these industries. Check out the celebrity and media guest list and mark your calendar! Tickets are available online now, and the three day pass for the entire event is a great bargain. Hurry up…the earlier you get your tickets the better the price.
Besides the Comic Expo and all that goes with it, there will also be a Film Festival sharing this time and venue. Tromadance New Mexico Film Festival will be held at ACE, and ACE ticket holders will be able to attend any of the Tromadance screenings free of charge. What a deal! All for one and one for All!!!
Lodging at the Albuquerque Hyatt is being pushed on ACE patrons from out of town and what can you expect – they are a sponsor. But a better way to stay can be had at our Albuquerque Bed and Breakfast, Adobe Nido. We’re only 2.5 miles from the convention center, have jetted tubs for two in every room plus an outdoor Finnish Sauna for you to enjoy. We also have Dish TV, HBO, ipod docks, and we serve great hot breakfasts every morning. There is a full service grocer right around the corner for munchies, beverages and more. Besides all this we can also offer up expert advice on all things Albuquerque, so give us a try and see how much better a b&b can be when compared to big box lodging. Our rooms are comfortable, relaxing and laid back. Quiet too. We only have two queen bed rooms and a fab full apartment suite – so hurry up and book now. We ain’t your grandmas bed and breakfast!
Plan a few extra days in our fair city and see what else Albuquerque and Central New Mexico has to offer. (This blog is chock FULL of ideas!) You came all this way, right? See it! Enjoy it!
Albuquerque Comic Expo has a well done and easy to navigate website – abqcomicexpo.com – and you will find more info than you ever dreamed you needed to know there. I’ll see you in the funny papers. Oh God…now I’m showing my age.
I know the best things to do in Albuquerque!
