What to do in Albuquerque during the Balloon Fiesta? BREW FEST!!

In the Spring we have ABQ Beer Week, a week’s worth of events including touring the Micro Breweries of this fine city, but now it all comes to you in one day, in one venue… the 3rd Annual New Mexico Brew Fest & Music Showcase. You’ll only have to show up in one place to taste lots of fabulous micro brews, and not only Albuquerque brews, but beers from the entire state and region. Over 20 brews – Woo Hoo! AND – there will also  be local music and foods galore.NM Brewfest, 2012

This young yet popular event is yet another great thing Albuquerque offers up during the International Balloon Fiesta. Once you’re done with the Balloons and are ready for a beer, head on over to the NM State Fairgrounds, (aka Expo New Mexico),  so you don’t have to figure out which brew pub is your best choice. You can try them all at the 3rd Annual New Mexico Brew Fest & Music Showcase.
AND…
This event is held at the same time as the Gem and Mineral Show, also at Expo NM, and just a short stroll from the Brew Fest. If you have the energy for it, park once and do both!

Date: October 6, 2012
Time: 1-6pm
Admission: $20-$50
Villa Hispana at Expo New Mexico
300 San Pedro NE
Phone: 505-247-1343 ext 22
info@nmbrewfest.com

Okay, so you noticed there are two prices. $20 per person is for general admission. $50 is the price for VIP tickets, and that includes:

  • a commemorative beer glass
  • a limited edition t-shirt
  • early (noon) admission
  • admittance to a VIP tent that will feature special small batch pours and more food munchies.

Definitely worth the extra $30 bucks, folks. You’d probably spend that much on stuff at the festival anyway, so go for it. Tickets may be purchased in advance, online at NMbrewfest.com.

This is a family-friendly venue… so no using “I’ve got the kids” for an excuse. Just go and bring ‘em along. The 3rd Annual Brew Fest is sponsored by Local iQ and Whole Foods, and is held outside in the beautiful New Mexico sunshine at Villa Hispana, a great NM Expo venue.

Cruise on over for the brews, food and live music. What more do you need? Oh… it’s October, which is beer-time everywhere, so there WILL be bratwursts. No self respecting beer festival wouldn’t have brats.

I know the best things to do in Albuquerque!
